Exprimntlst Radio Episode 12

New episode of my podcast.

The Reptilian - Boys' Life

The Reptilian play a combination of Don Caballero style math/post-rock mixed with WU LYF-ish art punk. Really good stuff. Every song is just as good as the next. Great 4 songs.

The Nervous Ticks - Death To Videodrome (CS)

The Nervous Ticks are an absurdly good punkish garage band. Another great band from Richmond, Virginia. I might have to move there to go join in on this great scene. The Nervous Ticks, Gunboat, Tungs, Heavy Midgets, and many more all jamming out in the Virginian badlands. These guys have swagger coming out of their eyes. Buy this cassette before it's gone.

Piresian Beach - Alle Falle

I'm loving the resurgence of post-punk showing up all over lately. Piresian Beachis a solo project by a girl in Hungary named Zsofia. She does the vocals and plays all instruments with some looping thrown in. Combining post-punk and shoegaze with just a hint of 60s psychedelic inspiration, Piresian Beach have made an album that deserves an official release. Don't sleep on this.

Fuseism - demotape

Stumbled onto this album from a recommendation on Broken Cups bandcamp. First of all, this is so good for a demo. These guys are from Hungary and on this demo they mixed punk style and snotty garage rock riffs with just a little post-whatever indie band you listen to. The drums range from simple surf garage beats to fast paced d-beat, punk fills and clap track worthy disco beats in the last song, a ten minute epic that makes you eager to hear the next release.
